I just finished reading David Kirkpatrick’s insider’s tale of the birth and adolescence, The Facebook Effect. Wow. If anyone can either make you feel like a slacker or totally inspire you, it’s Mark Zuckerberg and his crew. This was a well-written, engaging, inspiring, educative book.
After a highly productive meeting with the United Way social media task force last week, buddies of mine were pondering the best spot for breakfast in midtown… on a Thursday.

A friend sent me a note last week with a request and I thought others may wonder the same: “I have a question that I was hoping you would be able to help me with. I have a wooden dresser that I need to donate. Do you have any suggestions as to a specific charity that might be interested in taking it?”

To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar is one of my favorite movies. Please, don’t hold that against me. It’s one of those awesomely awful things… Plus, John Leguizamo really does make a sassy Latina. And ok, maybe there are a few days of the year that I wish I could be as glam as a drag queen. It takes a lot of confidence to rock it and live it. I love that.

I, it turns out, am dead useful. I connect people: jobs, talents, new friends. I know answers to bizarre variety of questions. I always know something that’s going on in Kansas City for the active, urban young person. So as a true social media nerd-ess, I’ve decided to digitize my usefulness.
